Zareen Faiz, M.D. is a breast dedicated radiologist who is raising public awareness about breast cancer and early detection.
ABOUT DR FAIZ
Dr Zareen Faiz is the director of Downey Breast Center in Downey, CA. She devotes her entire practice to breast imaging and the early detection of breast cancer. Dr. Faiz started her residency in Radiology at Wilmington Medical Center , and completed her residency in Nuclear Medicine at UC Davis. She is a member of RSNA, and belongs to Soroptimist International of the Americas (Women Helping Women).
"It is my lifetime goal to make a difference in how breast disease is treated. Breast cancer statistics show that one in seven women will develop breast cancer. However, the good news is it can be 100% curable if detected early. Yearly follow up exams are very important, as well as lifestyle, diet, and weight control. I would like to see a new specialty emerge that would be dedicated to the care, diagnosis, and treatment of breast disease. It should be one point of contact where the patient can ask questions and total care is provided. I am waiting for a time where there will be no metastatic cancer of the breast and no one will die from breast cancer."
In her spare time Dr Faiz enjoys traveling to exotic places, attending her church, and spending time with her grandchildren.
